Unbox it. Plug it in.
Run production.
A complete manufacturing execution and quality management system that ships as a turnkey appliance. Your facility, your network, your data. No cloud dependency. No IT project.
Expected Q1 2027
You already know the problem.
Your quality system lives in binders, spreadsheets, and someone's head. Every audit is a scramble. Every customer request for traceability data takes a week to compile.
The software that's supposed to fix this costs six figures, takes a year to deploy, charges per user, and locks your data in someone else's cloud.
Or you cobble together five different tools — one for work orders, one for NCRs, one for document control, one for receiving inspection — and none of them talk to each other.
One system. Everything you need.
Tarax replaces the patchwork. Every capability below is built in, configured, and ready to use on day one — not a module you buy separately, not a feature you unlock at a higher tier, and not something that requires a consultant to set up.
Engineering
Define the product before you build it.
Procurement
Get the right material from the right suppliers.
Production
Build it right, prove you built it right.
Test
Verify it meets requirements.
Quality
Find problems, fix problems, prevent problems.
Risk
Know what can go wrong before it does.
Audit
Prove it all works.
Reporting
Ask questions, get answers. No SQL required. Always deterministic and traceable.
A box shows up. You plug it in. That's it.
Tarax ships as a physical appliance — server, storage, automated backups, and a Wi-Fi access point for initial configuration. No VMs to provision. No containers to orchestrate. No six-month IT project. Power and ethernet.
Your site, your data, your hardware
Tarax ships to your site and runs on your local network. No cloud or internet dependency of any kind. Tarax never connects to the internet unless you enable remote access with its built-in secure VPN. Confidential and export-controlled data remains where it belongs.
You have full control over your hard drives and compute infrastructure. Upgrade RAM, expand storage, replace hardware, even access and modify Tarax's open-source core. Tarax belongs to you.
Local, remote, or airgapped
Tarax works on any device with a web browser: shop floor tablets, PCs, even phones. Tarax allows you to securely grant hardware-level access to any device you control while automatically locking out personal devices or untrusted endpoints. And with its zero-trust end-to-end encryption and row-level security, even malicious devices on Tarax's network can't access your confidential data.
Need remote access? Tarax's built-in VPN and device credential provisioning allows access from anywhere without exposing your data to the open internet or allowing devices access just because they have a password.
And if you want to run airgapped? Tarax fully supports airgapped deployment. Commercial versions and above even include physical disconnects on the wireless antennas used for initial setup.
Backups are automatic
The appliance handles its own backups automatically. No cron jobs, no fiddling with settings or asking IT for help.
Restoring is just as easy — no arcane terminal commands or separate systems, just pick the moment in time you want to revert to and click one button.
And if everything breaks? The system will restore itself to its last good configuration, fully logged and audited.
You buy it. You own it.
Tarax is sold like equipment, not rented like software. That means:
No per-user fees
User limits are performance guidelines, not license gates. Any Tarax system can provision unlimited users. No paywalls. No per-seat charges. Ever.
No license keys
No license server phoning home. No activation codes. No kill switch. The software runs because you own it.
You own your data
Your data and its encryption keys belong to you. Not to us, not to a cloud provider, not to anyone else.
No vendor lock-in
Your data is stored in standard formats on hardware you physically possess. If you ever want to leave, your data leaves with you.
Tarax also includes REST API access, full white-label branding, and configurable terminology — rename anything in the system to match your existing processes. Details in the documentation.
Built for the audit, not just the brochure.
Tarax isn't a general-purpose tool with a compliance checklist bolted on. It's designed from the ground up around the requirements your registrar, your customers, and your regulators actually enforce.
AS9100 / ISO 9001
Document control, CAPA, audit management, supplier quality, design control, and traceability — structured around the clauses your registrar audits against. When the auditor asks "show me your corrective action process," the answer is three clicks, not a filing cabinet.
ITAR / CMMC
Your data lives on hardware in your building, on your network, behind your firewall. No data crosses a border. No third-party cloud provider has access. The appliance model isn't just convenient — it's a compliance architecture.
FDA 21 CFR Part 11
Electronic signatures, audit trails, and access controls designed for regulated environments. If you're in medical device, aerospace, or defense, the controls are already there.
Every Tarax system includes full audit documentation — compliance checklists, system architecture documentation, and a richly illustrated and extensively documented auditor handbook for your next compliance audit. Free of charge. Because we had to make it for ourselves, so why not give it to you too?
Honest pricing. No sales gauntlet.

User limits are guidelines to ensure smooth performance. Any Tarax product can provision unlimited users and store unlimited data, subject to hardware limitations.
Built by a manufacturer, for manufacturers.
Tarax exists because Manhattan Beach Labs needed it. The open source tools barely work. The cheap software can't pass audit. The enterprise-tier systems are both unaffordable and lackluster — and nearly every option enforces crushing vendor lock-in and deeply worrying security exposure. If the vendor disappeared, so would our data. And even when everything was online, nobody would give us a straight answer on US-based hosting and security without an enterprise account.
So we built the system we needed. It runs end-to-end business, engineering, production, and quality operations at Manhattan Beach Labs because nothing else could. Now we're offering it to every other manufacturer stuck in the same position.
